Faculty Position in Marriage and Family Counseling
The University of Mobile invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Marriage and Family Counseling to begin fall semester, 2013. The University of Mobile is a Christian Liberal Arts institution with an emphasis on teaching. The normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester, and the successful applicant will be expected to teach two master's level night courses in the Marriage and Family Counseling program each semester, supervise practicum and internship students and teach one bachelor's level course in psychology each semester. Other responsibilities include advising, university and community service, and professional development activities. Regular opportunities to teach summer courses will be available.
Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Required credentials: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or Counselor Education with coursework emphasizing a family systems approach to counseling. Licensure in Alabama or eligibility for licensure in Alabama as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and/or Licensed Professional Counselor is required. Faculty Position in Education
The University of Mobile, School of Education, invites applications for tenure track faculty position in education to begin fall semester, 2013. Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in an applicable field, at least three years of PK-6 (recent) teaching experience in a public school setting, and the interest and ability to engage in scholarly activities.
The University of Mobile is a Christian Liberal Arts institution with an emphasis on teaching and accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The School of Education is approved by the Alabama State Department of Education.
The primary responsibilities of the position include: teaching early childhood and/or elementary methods and core education courses (focusing on the teaching of reading), supervising teacher candidates in clinical internships, advising/mentoring teacher candidates, and serving on School and College committees. Graphic Designer Position
University of Mobile Marketing & Public Relations Department
The University of Mobile is looking for a creative individual to handle graphic design work for print and web-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in graphic design, web design or a related field and at least two years experience producing graphic design for print and/or web. Individual should be deadline-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Required skills include:
- Creative skills to develop relevant and professional designs to reach intended target audiences for recruiting, development and general university use
- Expert knowledge of design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator as well as other software for Macintosh
- Ability to handle design, layout, illustrations, creative services and in-house photography
- Excellent attention to detail, flexibility and ability to work well in a team environment
- Technical proficiency to troubleshoot and solve issues related to computer software and graphics printers
- Ability to handle in-house printing, trimming, and paste-up work as needed as well as work with outside agencies and printers on a regular basis.
