Assistant Professor
School of Worship Leadership

The University of Mobile, School of Worship Leadership, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Worship Leadership. The University of Mobile is a Christian Liberal Arts institution with an emphasis on teaching. The normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester, and the successful applicant will be expected to teach survey as well as upper level courses. Other responsibilities include advising, university and community service, and professional development activities.

The Schools of Music & Worship Leadership offer a comprehensive music and worship leadership program of 225 majors.  It has approximately 14 full-time faculty, 33 adjunct faculty and 5 professional administrative staff.  It sponsors more than 450 concerts and recitals every year.  Degrees offered include Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music (vocal performance), Bachelor of Science in music (for teacher certification; p-12), Bachelor of Science in Worship Leadership (church ministry, music business, media, film & theatre). 

Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. The University of Mobile, College of Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Biology to begin Fall semester, 2014. A Masters Degree in Biology is required. Faculty Position in New Testament
The School of Christian Ministries

The School of Christian Ministries of the University of Mobile announces the opening for a full-time New Testament instructor to teach English NT and Greek NT coursework.  Men and women with the following qualifications are welcome to apply:

  • Ph.D. in New Testament or related field
  • Successful completion of at least 18 Graduate hours in New Testament Greek
  • Active membership in a cooperating  Southern Baptist Church
  • At least five years in active Christian ministry

Support Team Lead
Information Technology Department

Support Team Lead Job Purpose: Lead the support team to ensure consistently smooth operations of day to day activates of the users’ desktop hardware and software. Provide support for development team. Support infrastructure of networking equipment and servers.

Support Team Lead Job Duties:

  • Oversee the day to day operations of support for software and hardware.
  • Implement hardware technologies for networking, servers and desktops.
  • Understand the workings of an ERP so as to assist users with support.
  • Ensures operation and maintenance of technology equipment.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Information Technology Department

Programmer Job Purpose: Creates and modifies computer programs by converting project requirements into code.

Programmer Job Duties:

  • Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with analyst, supervisor, and client.
  • Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
  • Encodes project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language.
  • Programs using Java, C# and SQL to code project requirements for Web Services or UNIX environment
  • Confirms program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Understands Unix environment and can work through system commands and scripts.
