The UMobile Honor Band will meet on the beautiful University of Mobile campus, Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon, February 12 – 14, and is for qualified High School students who play a band instrument.
Admission is based on the student’s application and an accompanying nomination from their band director.

-Students may apply online and an e-mail will be sent to directors for their recommendation OR
-Directors may recommend students online and an e-mail will be sent to the students for their application information. EASY!! (If you prefer, you may still download and print the nomination form and send it by mail.

While you do not audition to get into the UMobile Honor Band, there ARE chair placement auditions upon arrival.

University of Mobile Band Scholarships will be awarded to all First Chair Players!
The cost for the honor band is $75 ($10 non-refundable application fee and $65 registration fee upon acceptance).
This fee covers 3 meals, Honor Band t-shirt, Honor Band medal, Honor Band name tag, clinician, etc.
During Honor Band there will be dynamic performances from outstanding University of Mobile instrumental ensembles -
RamCorps, The Symphonic Winds, Welsh Revival, and the UM Jazz Band.
This great week will conclude with a performance by the Honor Band, led by guest conductor, Mr. Jerell Horton.
All UM Performances are Free of Charge and Open to Students, Directors and Chaperones
The Final Honor Band Concert is Free of Charge and Open to the Public.
You are invited to join us for a casual dinner with Jerell Horton and other directors Friday evening.
There is no cost for the dinner; however, we need your reservation to hold a spot and to make sure we prepare properly.

Concert Dress is your high school concert band uniform.
Daily dress will be casual, but modest and respectful.
(No bare midriffs, no shirts with inappropriate language or designs, no short skirts or shorts, etc.)
As a director, please help us by either communicating this information to your students and preempting any possible problems or directing any adults who may accompany the students to do that on your behalf.
Each participant must bring a music stand.
Each participant (or group) needs to have a director or adult chaperone(s) present.
