Hands-On Ministry Teams

All University of Mobile students are provided the opportunity to serve on one of our
Hands-On Ministry Teams. Currently, we have more than 90 students who serve weekly in a variety of ministries along the central Gulf Coast. Collectively, our students are serving more than 400 hours per week! The following are some of the teams you can apply to serve on:

Black Ops Team
This elite, highly trained team carries out classified ministry projects bringing light to people in some of the darkest places in the world. Outstanding applicants are selected through a separate application process.

Church Ministry
We have a great relationship with the church community along the central Gulf Coast. Dozens of our students serve weekly in local congregations of various denominational affiliations.

Community Development
Work to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people by assisting local nonprofit organizations, becoming trained in disaster relief, and developing ministries to people in the workplace. Members of this team work with the homeless and impoverished, provide disaster relief, tutor and mentor at-risk children, assist with medical care for the needy, and host numerous other relational outreaches.

Creative Media Team
Use your administrative, technical, and creative gifts to reach others with the gospel. Members of this team develop resources designed to develop others spiritually and market the work of the ministry teams. Web developers, graphic designers, video producers, writers, and those with marketing and administrative skills or interests fulfill this team's ministry.

Music Ministry
Students serving in an official capacity in church music programs or campus ensembles including Impact, Voices of Mobile, True Spin, and RamCorps qualify for this team.

Social Justice Team
Work the frontlines of social justice and religious freedom by ministering the gospel to victims of human trafficking, working with orphans and foster children, alleviating poverty, and working with international refugees living in Mobile. This team serves with the Refugee Resettlement Program, International Justice Mission, Sav-a-Life, Open Doors, and others.

Sports Ministry Team
Use your athletic interests to share the gospel through sports. This team conducts sports camps and work with organizations including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Senior Bowl, the Mobile Baybears, Strickland Youth Center, local parks, and others.

Student Ministry Team
This team focuses on middle, high school, and college student ministry through student camps, DiscipleNow weekends, and student ministries in local churches and organizations.
