Ember Langley, Miss UM 2013
Ember Langley won the 2013 Miss University of Mobile pageant and will represent the University of Mobile for the upcoming year.
Langley, a sophomore communication major from Fairhope, AL, performed the song “Glitter and Be Gay” for her talent at the Feb. 2 event held at the Saraland Performing Arts Center. Her platform was “Changing the World with our Fingertips.”
The Miss University of Mobile pageant is an official qualifier sponsored by Miss America, giving Langley the opportunity to participate in the Miss Alabama pageant in June.
"I am looking forward to everything that comes with the experience of being Miss University of Mobile. I am so excited and feel so privileged to represent UMobile in June at Miss Alabama," said Langley.
"Making appearances will be fun because I will have the chance to meet new faces and make new friends," continued Langley. "It will be awesome to talk to prospective students about the University of Mobile and talk about the Miss UM program."
First runner-up is Adrienne Smith, a sophomore early childhood and elementary education major from Gilbertown, AL. Smith also won the swimsuit competition.
Second runner-up is Chelsea Seitz, a sophomore music major from Mobile, AL. Seits also won the talent portion of the contest.
Miss Congeniality is Holly Dunnam, a junior early childhood and elementary education major from Mobile, AL.
