Welcome

Welcome to the University of Mobile RamKids Program. RamKids is a faith-based, mentor-oriented, leadership development program designed to break the at-risk cycle by guiding selected at-risk individuals through high school - and into and through college - to their first post-graduate employment positions in the Mobile region and to their first home ownership in the city of Prichard.

The ultimate goal is to produce confident, talented, value-oriented, baccalaureate-level educated individuals who will take positions of influence in Prichard, Alabama.

The intervention will be conducted by trained mentors in after-school sessions and summer programs on the university campus. The mentors will be composed of University of Mobile students.

A variety of program components will be introduced to students to assist them with progressing through high school and meeting the challenges of life. Components of the program entail academics, leadership development, life skills, cultural enrichment, health, fitness and recreation, community service, and field trips.

We are excited about the opportunity to work with such intellectual and talented students. We are proud of the collaboration we have developed with the targeted schools and the community.

The RamKids Program will afford low-income youth the opportunity to successfully complete high school and enter college.
