BROWNSVILLE, Texas-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team fell 1-2 at University of Texas at Brownsville in NAIA soccer action Sunday evening. The loss snaps a six-game unbeaten streak for Mobile and is the team's first loss in a month. Mobile (7-2-2) will visit University of Houston-Victoria Tuesday, Oct. 12. Despite Mobile holding a 9-6 edge in shots in the opening half, it was UTB that scored a pair of goals to take a 2-0 lead at the break.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 17th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team turned in an impressive effort Saturday afternoon, blanking Reinhardt University 5-0 in non-conference action. The Lady Rams turned up the pressure with 25 shots, including 11 shots on target, and the Mobile defense outmatched Reinhard all day, allowing only 3 shots to the visitors.

Mobile (11-7, 3-1) hosts SSAC foe Faulkner University Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 pm. Against Florida Memorial, Disah Kolassiba led with 9 kills and hit 1.000, while Katie Dowd and Shea McBee finished with 6 kills.

Kelly Sherling led the Lady Rams with 15 kills and added 13 digs, while Shea McBee with .409 and finished with 11 kills. Katie Dowd hit .500 and added 8 kills to the Mobile attack, while Katy McCollister led with 17 digs.

Sherling posted a team-leading 15 kills versus Martin Methodist and hit .433, while Alyson Kovacs hit .462 with 7 kills. Shea McBee and Katie Dowd each added 7 kills for Mobile. Kaylee McGrew led with 19 assists, followed by Melody Tenney with 18, and Katy McCollister finished with 13 digs.

Mobile (9-6) will face Martin Methodist today at 5:30 pm and then battle a pair of teams tomorrow on the final day of the invite. Kelly Sherling led Mobile with 20 kills, while Alyson Kovacs added 10 and hit .368.

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, will add a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveils its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. The “Southern States Showcase” will feature 18 thirty-minute weekly episodes on SportSouth (Fox regional sports network) reaching more than 10 million households. The show will air three times weekly across six southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) beginning the week of October 18.

JACKSON, Miss-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team battled 9th-ranked Belhaven University to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in Southern States Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening. Mobile moves to 7-1-2, 0-0-1 on the season, while Belhaven sits at 11-1-1, 0-0-1. The Rams visit University of Texas-Brownsville Sunday, Oct. 10 at 5 pm. The tie snaps a five-game winning streak for Mobile, but the Rams still have a six-game unbeaten streak going.

PENSACOLA, Fla-- The 17th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team traveled to NCAA II power University of West Florida and lost 2-5 Tuesday evening. Mobile (5-4-1) hosts Reinhardt College Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 pm. West Florida out shot Mobile 17-10 and jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening half. Tori Fish scored in the 10th minute, followed by Jodi-Ann Robinson in the 29th minute.

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile volleyball team improved to 3-1 in SSAC West Division play with a 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21) victory at Belhaven University Tuesday evening. Kelly Sherling led the Lady Rams with 13 kills, while Shea McBee added 8 kills with a .278 hitting percentage. Kaylee McGrew led with 16 assists, while Melody Tenney added 15. Charlotte Stutts produced 4 aces, while Katy McCollister led with 11 digs.
