GAINESVILLE, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball team went 2-0 on day one of the SSAC Cross-Over Tournament in Gainesville, Ga. Friday. The Lady Rams beat Southern Wesleyan 3-1 (26-24, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17) to hand SWU their first conference loss of the season and then defeated Brenau 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 26-28, 25-16). Mobile (9-9, 3-5) will battle Brewton-Parker Saturday at 9 am.

CENTRAL, S.C.-- The 2nd-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team dropped its first game of the season Friday, falling 1-2 at conference opponent Southern Wesleyan. Mobile (7-1, 3-1) will face Truett McConnell Saturday at 3 pm. The game featured six cards. The Rams put 10 of 16 shots on target, but Warriors' goalkeeper John Prochack gathered in nine saves to pick up the victory.

CENTRAL, S.C.-- The 8th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team blanked Southern States Athletic Conference foe Southern Wesleyan 2-0 in road action Friday evening. Mobile (6-2-1, 2-1) will next play Truett McConnell Saturday at 2 pm. The Lady Rams dominated the game with a 37-5 shot advantage and a 22-3 advantage in shots on target. The Mobile offense found net once in each half.

MARIETTA, Ga-- The 2nd-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team blanked 7th-ranked Southern Poly 3-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference road action Wednesday afternoon. The Rams managed 12 shots, including 7 shots on target, while the Hornets of Southern Poly put 4 of 7 shots on frame. Kyle Buxton made a pair of saves while working all 90 minutes to pick up the shutout victory for the Rams.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team placed 2nd at the 2011 Badger Fall Shootout. The tournament was held at the Par-72 5,960-yard Spring Hill College GC. The Lady Rams fired a 118-over 694 (355, 339), while Spring Hill won the event with a 111-over 687 (347, 340).

MERIDIAN, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 3rd place at the Jim Redgate Invitational Tuesday. The two-day tournament took place at the Par-72 6,928-yard Briarwood CC. Mobile fired an 18-over 594 (296, 298), while Central Alabama CC won the tournament with a 2-under 574 (285, 289).

PITTSBURGH -- The Pirates handed out their annual Minor League awards on Friday, with outfielder Robbie Grossman earning Player-of-the-Year honors and Kyle McPherson being named Pitcher of the Year. McPherson, 23, ended the season as the organizational leader with 142 strikeouts. No Pirates Minor Leaguer had amassed that many since 2006

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team sits in 2nd place after one round of play at the Badger Fall Shootout Monday. The Lady Rams carded a 67-over 355 and sit eight strokes behind the Lady Badgers. William Carey sits in 3rd after putting up a 386 in round one. Ann Nahl leads the Lady Rams with a 14-over 86, while Abbie Harris and Alexis Belton fired 87's.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 2nd-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team dominated their second-consecutive SSAC contest Saturday evening, blanking Lee University 4-0. Mobile (6-0, 2-0) has won the two conference games by a combined 12-0 margin. The Rams visit Southern Poly Wednesday at 3 pm.The Rams dominated the flow of the game with a 29-12 edge in shots taken and a 13-5 edge in shots on target. Mobile tallied two goals in each half of play, while Kyle Buxton and Xavier Audergon each worked a half in goal for Mobile.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 3rd-ranked Lee University Lady Flames topped the 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team 3-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference action at Mobile Saturday evening. The loss snaps Mobile's (5-2-1) five-game winning streak. The Lady Rams will next play at Southern Wesleyan Friday, Sept. 30 at 3 pm. For the game, Lee out shot Mobile 27-4, but the Lady Rams were able to withstand a 9-1 deficit in shots in the opening 45 minutes as they battled the three-time defending NAIA Champions to a scoreless tie.
