MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team rolled past visiting Concordia College-Selma 86-55 in non-conference basketball action Friday evening.
Mobile (4-5) hosts Carver Bible College Saturday at 7 pm.
The Rams shot 54% for the game, including a scorching 63% in the second half that saw Mobile outscore the Hornets 53-26.
Antonio Hester led the Rams with 22 points, Christian Salinas added 14, Cody Scott finished with 11 points and 6 boards and Spencer Duke added 10 points for Mobile.
The Hornets shot 45% for the game, but turned the ball over 27 times, and finished 0-for-12 from 3-point range. Mobile knocked down 8-of-18 from downtown in the game.
The opening half was tight with Concordia grabbing a 26-25 lead with 2:07 left, but the Rams answered with a 7-0 spurt thanks to a putback by Hester and a 3-ball from Duke. That allowed Mobile to take a 33-29 lead into the break.
Concordia stayed within four points for 6:19 of the half, with the score at 45-41 before the Rams made their move. Mobile took control of the game from that point with a 19-2 run over the next 5:49. Dockery started the run with a free throw and 3-point play, and Salinas followed that with back-to-back 3-balls to get it going.
The final margin of 31 was the largest lead of the game for Mobile.
