BETHANY, Okla-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 58-75 at 15th-ranked Southern Nazarene University Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Alice Honnery led Mobile with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Daphnee Frieson added 13 points and 6 boards off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting. Lauren Bethly added 8 points, while nobody else for Mobile tallied more than 3 points.
Four players scored in double figures for SNU, led by 19 points from Oumoul Thiam and 16 points from Abbey Marra.
The Lady Rams turned the ball over 13 times, compared to 21 for SNU, and SNU out shot Mobile 41% to 37% for the game.
Mobile scored first on a bucket from Honnery, and the teams traded points from there until they were tied up at 15-15 with 12:24 remaining. Over the remainder of the period, the Crimson Storm out scored Mobile 21-7 to take a 36-22 lead into the break.
In the second half, it took Southern Nazarene just 3:12 to push their lead to 20, and they cruised the rest of the way, never letting Mobile get within single digits.
Mobile (3-8) will battle Science & Arts (Okla.) Thursday at 2 pm.
