UMobile Men Fall By Three At Faulkner University

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- Faulkner University topped UMobile 63-60 in SSAC men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.

Mobile (9-12, 5-6) hosts Loyola University Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 pm.

Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 19 points, Jonathan Tinch added 13 and Antonio Hester finished with 10 points for the Rams.

Chris Palmore led Faulkner with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

The Eagles out shot Mobile 49% to 40% from the floor, made 11 more trips to the free throw line and outrebounded Mobile 31-23.

Mobile led for only 1:02 in the game, as a Tinch basket made it 16-14 in favor of the Rams before Palmore answered to tie it up. The Eagles took a 30-25 lead into the break.

Faulkner started the second half by using a 10-2 run to grab a 13-point lead with 15:49 to play. Mobile started to make its move with six minutes left to play after Palmore gave Faulkner a 57-48 lead. The Rams used a 9-2 run over the next five minutes to cut it to 59-57, with a pair of Matthew Turner buckets book-ending the run. Palmore answered with four-straight points for Faulkner to push their lead back to six with nine seconds to play. A Kimbrough 3-point play cut it to 63-60, but a last-second 3-ball from the Rams came up short.
