Badgers Take Twin Bill From Rams

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Spring Hill Friday, falling 2-5 in a 7-inning game and 3-11 in a 9-inning contest.

Mobile (2-6, 0-2) and Spring Hill (5-2, 2-0) will finish the series with a 12 pm contest Saturday.

Michael Moch picked up the win in the opener for Spring Hill, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits in 6.1 innings of work. Michael King took the loss after allowing 2 earned runs (5 runs) on 8 hits in 6 innings of work.

Braxton Hamil finished 2-for-2 with 2 doubles for Mobile while Ryan Waltman added 2 RBI.

Brian Sims, Ryan Cummings and Kendell Carvin each collected 2 hits for the Badgers.

In game two, the Badgers' Casey Adams picked up the win by limiting Mobile to 1 run on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. Corey Fountain took the loss for Mobile after allowing 7 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings of work.

Ryan Parazine went 3-for-5 at the plate for the Rams, while Josh Blaylock finished 1-for-3. Cummings, John Hollingsworth and Carvin tallied a pair of hits each for Spring Hill.

Spring Hill took game one with a 4-run 3rd inning on 5 hits. A bunt single and error aided the rally, while Carvin and Wayne Huell had 2-out RBI-singles.

A 7-run 2nd did the damage for the Badgers in the final game. Hollingsworth started the inning with a homer. Three batters reached via a bunt and Fred Rossi hit a 3-run homerun.
