MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team bounced back Sunday and trounced Spring Hill College 10-2 in the series finale.
Mobile (3-6) will host University of New Orleans TUesday at 2 pm.
Ryan Hines limited the Badger bats to 1 run on 6 hits in 7 innings of work, while fanning 5 and walking 1. The lefty needed only 85 pitches to work through the 7 innings.
The Ram hitters, meanwhile, pounded four Badger pitchers for 10 runs on 19 hits, with four multiple-run innings. Justin Beck set the tone with a 4-for-6 effort from the leadoff spot, scoring three runs. Braxton Hamil continued his hot-hitting with a 3-for-4, 2 RBI day, and John Soutullo, Cameron White, Ryan Waltman, Ryan Parazine and Ryne Phillips all added 2-hit days. Every Ram starter recorded at least one hit.
Mobile started the scoring with a pair of 2-out RBI in the 1st thanks to RBI-singles from Hamil and Waltman. The Rams then turned a trio of walks into a pair of runs in the 4th to make it 5-0.
The team capped the scoring with a 3-run 9th, as four hitters reached before an out was recorded.
