Lady Rams Take Down #23 Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team knocked off 23rd-ranked Spring Hill College 5-4 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening.

The Lady Rams (10-3, 6-3) next play at LSU-Shreveport Saturday at 10 am, while Spring Hill (8-5, 6-4) visits Belhaven April 9 at 12 pm. The season series is evened at 1-1 between the schools, as the Lady Badgers won 5-4 earlier this year at the Mobile Tennis Center. Mobile stays one game behind William Carey for 2nd place in the GCAC standings.

Doubles play often determines the winner in close matches, and the Lady Rams grabbed the 2-1 advantage thanks to 8-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Spring Hill won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Mobile then finished things off quickly in singles play to clinch the match, taking the top three singles spots in convincing fashion. Spring Hill grabbed the bottom three singles matches, just like they did earlier in the season.
