No. 22 Lady Rams Sweep Concordia

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile softball team swept Concordia University Thursday, run-ruling the Lady Cardinals 10-0 in the opener, and taking the finale 5-1.

Mobile (8-0) hosts Morningside Monday at 5 pm.

Kamaron Strickland grabbed the win in the opener, blanking the Cardinals on 2 hits in 4 innings of work. The Mobile bats, meanwhile, scored all 10 runs in the 2nd-4th innings to back Strickland.

Brittany Dunson went 4-for-4 with 4 RBI, Johnna Barnes finished 2-for-2 with 3 RBI, Korie Fontenot scored 3 runs and Jessica Rogers drove in a pair.

Mobile loaded the bags without a hit in the 2nd and got a 2-run single from Dunson and a bases loaded walk from Rogers to make it 3-0. A 4-run 3rd put it away, with Milagros Lozada and Barnes producing triples. Fontenot and Rogers singled home runs.

Game two saw Alli Hall work in the circle for the Lady Rams. Hall worked 6.2 2-hit shutout innings while fanning 3. Rogers finished 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and Fontenot drove in a pair.

A 2-run 3rd and 2-run 5th provided the bulk of the offense for Mobile. Hannah Beth Baker doubled home Emily Vickrey and later scored on Fontenot's RBI-hit in the 3rd, and Lozada singled in a run in the 5th.
