MOBILE, Ala-- The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile softball team defeated Oklahoma Baptist 8-1 in a non-conference game Sunday afternoon.
Mobile (16-3) will host SSAC foe Faulkner University Tuesday for a 4 pm doubleheader.
Alli Hall got the win for the Lady Rams, limiting the Lady Bison to 1 run on 3 hits in a complete-game effort. She fanned 1 and walked 3. Noelle McDowell took the loss for OBU after giving up 7 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits in 3 innings of work.
Johnna Barnes finished 1-for-2 with 3 RBI for Mobile, Ally Scott finished 2-for-3 and Korie Fontenot finished 1-for-2 with 2 runs scored.
The Lady Rams took control of the game with a 2-run 2nd and a 5-run 3rd. Fontenot and Scott reached with two outs in the 2nd to extend the inning and Johnna Barnes jumped on the first pitch and lined a 2-run double to center.
In the 3rd, the Lady Rams scored 5 on 5 hits and were aided by 3 errors. Three of the runs scored via error to go along with a Milagros Lozada RBI-single and Barnes' sac fly.
