Lady Rams' Alice Honnery Earns Honorable Mention All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- Alice Honnery was named Honorable Mention NAIA All-America for the second-straight year Wednesday with the release of the 2012 Division I Women's Basketball teams by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

A First Team, Second Team, Third Team and Honorable Mention selections were chosen by the All-America committee.

A senior post player from New South Wales, Australia, Honnery led the Lady Rams with 15.3 points, 10.86 rebounds, 2.64 assists, 1.21 steals and 3.93 blocks per game. She led the NAIA in total blocks with 110 and blocks per game, was 2nd with a .577 field goal percentage and was 9th in rebounds per contest.

Honnery scored in double-figures in 25 of 28 games played on the season, scoring 20+ points in eight games. She posted season-highs of 34 points and 23 rebounds against Brenau and finished the year with 16 double-doubles. She posted two triple-doubles, going for 34 points, 23 boards and 11 blocks against Brenau and 23 points, 16 rebounds and 12 blocks against Spring Hill.

She tied her own school mark with 12 blocks in a game, and tied the record with 14 field goals made in a single game and 23 rebounds in a game. She is also the school's single-season and career blocks leader, and leaves UMobile with 1,032 career points, 362 blocks, 103 steals, 198 assists and 862 rebounds. She averaged 12.1 points and 10.1 boards over 85 games at Mobile.
