JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile Lady Rams made it to the GCAC Tournament Finals with a win over Spring Hill, but fell to Belhaven in 5.

 

Mobile avenged a 3-0 setback at Spring Hill in the regular season by dropping the Lady Badgers 30-23, 30-21, 30-26.

 

Whitney Knight came through with 16 kills, 10 digs and 4 blocks for the Lady Rams, and Tasha Buchanan produced 7 kills, 10 digs and 4 blocks. Paula Stilkey led Mobile's block party with 10 and Brittany Latham rounded out the group with 4 more blocks.

 

Unfortunately for Mobile, they ran into Belhaven in the finals, a team that handed the Lady Rams one of their 4 regular season defeats. Mobile fought the whole way, but was bounced from the tourney 30-23, 24-30, 30-23, 20-30, 7-15.

 

Knight and Jill Campbell combined for 50 digs, with 27 and 23 respectively, while Knight added 16 kills. Buchanan continued her stellar play with 16 digs, 5 blocks and 13 kills, while setter Nicole Stokes finished with 26 assists.

 

Mobile is 30-5 at this point and will head to Cleveland, Tennessee for the Region XIII Tournament next weekend thanks to being the regular season GCAC Champions.
