No. 19 Mobile Moves To 3-0 On Season

MOBILE, Ala-- The 19th-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-3 home victory over NCAA II foe Stillman College Saturday.

 

In doubles play, Rachel Hartley - Zelie Pfeiffer won 8-1 at No. 1 and Claudia Borges - Kari Williams won 8-1 at No. 3. Nancy Machen - Emily Jennings fell 7-9 at No. 2 doubles.
 
The Lady Rams swept the top four singles matches to close out the win. Borges won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1, Machen won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2, Hartley won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 and Pfeiffer won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. Williams fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 5 and Jordin Wiggins fell 6-4, 0-6, (7-10) at No. 6 singles.
 
Mobile (3-0) next battles Spring Hill College at the Mobile Tennis Center Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 2 pm.
