Rams Ready For Big Games Versus Badgers

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball and baseball teams will kick off the week with contests against the cross town rival Spring Hill College Badgers.

The 23rd-ranked softball team will visit the Badgers Monday, April 16 at 2 pm for a Southern States Athletic Conference doubleheader. Baseball will host a non-conference game against Spring Hill Tuesday, April 17 at 3 pm.

The Lady Rams are 26-10 overall and 8-7 in SSAC action, while Spring Hill is 17-21 and 7-9.

Mobile and Spring Hill met April 11 at the University of Mobile, where the teams split. Spring Hill took the opener 5-4 in 8 innings and the Lady Rams took the final game 7-2. Kamaron Strickland got the win for Mobile and Ally Scott had two hits and three RBI in the 7-2 decision.

Hannah Beth Baker leads Mobile with a .328 batting average, .416 on base percentage and 12 extra base hits.

Spring Hill is led by Mariha Partman's .355 batting average, while Jade Bourgeois leads the team with 21 extra base hits and 30 RBI.

UMobile's baseball team is 22-22 overall, while the Badgers are 20-25.

The two squads played a three-game series at Spring Hill earlier this season, with the Badgers taking 2-of-3. Spring Hill won by scores of 5-2 and 11-3, while the Rams took the final game 10-2. Ryan Hines got the win in the finale, while Braxton Hamil finished with three hits and two RBI.

Ryne Phillips leads UMobile with a .362 batting average, while Hamil leads with 16 doubles and 30 RBI. Ryan Waltman leads the team with six homers.

Brian Sims leads the Badgers with a .370 batting average, while Ryan Cummings leads with 24 RBI.

Mobile will have a skydiving demonstration before the baseball game and free Sno Biz for University of Mobile students.
