MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split Friday's SSAC twin bill with Southern Wesleyan, taking the opener 7-4 in seven innings and dropping the finale 6-2.

Mobile (24-23, 14-15) and Southern Wesleyan (21-32, 8-21) conclude the series with a 1 pm game Saturday.

In the opener, the Rams bounced back from a 4-0 deficit to pick up the win.

The Warriors went ahead 4-0 with three runs in the the top of the 3rd on four hits. All the runs scored with two outs, starting with Tyler Lollis' 2-run double.

The Rams started the comeback with a pair of runs in the 3rd on two hits, two walks a passed ball and a wild pitch. Ryan Parazine doubled home Ryne Phillips to cap the inning.

Mobile then went ahead for good with a three-run 5th inning. Josh Blaylock, Brady King and Phillips started the inning with three-straight singles to load the bases. Ryan Waltman. Ryan Waltman and Cameron White drove in runs to tie it up before Braxton Hamil drew a bases loaded walk to make it 5-4.

Michael King picked up the win with 6 innings of four-run, eight-hit ball. Blaylock worked a perfect 7th for the save.

King finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored, Phillips went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Parazine finished 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Game two turned in Southern Wesleyan's favor in the 5th inning. Mobile starter Ryan Hines was dealing with four innings of one-hit shutout ball before the Warriors put up four runs in the 5th. Two infield hits and an error helped the Warriors' cause, but the big blow came on a three-run double off the bat of Johnny Hornke.

The Rams' offense only managed single tallies in the 4th and 5th off of Chase McElrath and Luke Sawyer.

McElrath got the win with 7.2 innings of eight-hit ball. He allowed only one earned run. Luke Sawyer picked up the save with 1.1 innings of perfect relief. Hines was the tough-luck loser after striking ou 10 hitters in 7 innings of work. He gave up three earned on five hits.

John Soutullo finished 2-for-4 for Mobile, Parker Hollinghead went 3-for-3 and Cameron White added two hits.
