Xavier Tops Rams In GCAC Action

 

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile fell to Gulf Coast Athletic Conference foe Xavier University-Louisiana 2-7 in men's tennis action Saturday.
 
Mobile (6-3, 3-3) hosts Spring Hill Wednesday, March 24 at 3 pm.
 
Xavier won the first two doubles matches and the Rams picked up a win at No. 3 doubles by default to make it 2-1 in favor of Xavier heading to singles play.
 
In singles, Xavier handled the No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 spots with relative ease, while the Rams picked up their lone win at the No. 5 spot, as Jesus Urmeneta won 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7).
 
Doubles
No. 1 — Giles Osborn - Abbas (XU) d. G. Lorencon-R. Weghorst (UM) 8-2.
No. 2 — Richardson-Knowles (XU) d. G. Godoi-J. Urmeneta (UM) 8-4.
No. 3 — S. Litterio-Clint Key (UM) won by default vs. Myles-Vaval (XU).
 
Singles
