COLUMBUS, Ga-- The University of Mobile baseball team saw its season come to an end Friday, falling 4-9 to 16th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery on day two of the SSAC Tournament.
Mobile ends the season with a 25-25 overall record.
The Warhawks jumped on Mobile with seven runs over the first three innings and never looked back. After the Rams went down in order in the top of the 1st, Adam Russell hit a two-out, three-run double in the bottom half of the inning.
The Rams then put two on in the 2nd, but could not score, and AUM came back with another three-run, two-out rally in the 2nd. Following two ground outs, five-straight hitters reached safely, with Hunter Cross doubling home a pair.
Mobile finally got on the board in the top of the 4th, scoring three runs on three hits. Cameron White and Parker Hollinghead had RBI-singles, while Justin Beck drove in a run with a RBI-ground out.
Mobile pushed across one more in the 5th when Brady King singled, swiped 2nd and scored on Ryan Parazine's base hit, but the team managed only one base runner over the final four innings.
Michael Carden got the win for AUM, allowing three earned runs on 10 hits in 7 innings of work. He fanned six and walked none. Ryan Hines took the loss for the Rams after giving up six runs on five hits in 1.2 innings. He walked four and struck out one.
Ryan Parazine finished 3-for-4 for Mobile, while Brady King, Ryne Phillips and Cameron White each finished with two hits.
