PRATTVILLE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team opened the 2012-13 season with a 6th-place finish at the Alabama State University Fall Golf Classic Monday.

The Rams carded a two-round +53 629 (310, 319), while Alabama State won the tournament at 8-over 584 (295, 289).

ASU's Branson Ferrier won the top individual honors with a 3-under 141 (68, 73), while Chase Blan led the Rams with a 10th-place finish after firing a 7-over 151 (74, 77).

Zach Day and Michael Abram each finished tied for 21st after carding 14-over 158's. Day shot an 85 and 73, while Abram carded a pair of 79's.

Josh Ball finished at 25-over 169 (79, 90) and Viktor Cedersjo shot a 25-over 169 (78, 91) to round out the UMobile performers.

The Rams return to action Sept. 14-15 at Delta State university's tournament at the Cleveland Country Club.
