THOMASVILLE, Ga-- The 9th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team fell 1-4 at non-conference foe Thomas University Saturday.
Mobile (2-1-1) next plays UT-Brownsville Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 pm at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.
The Rams finished with a slim 15-12 edge in shots, but Thomas finished with a 10-5 edge in shots on target, and four of those found the back of the net.
Thomas started the scoring in the 13th minute, when Nathan Would knocked home a rebound, and Rowan Liburd followed in the 32nd with a finish for a 2-0 Nighthawks lead. Mobile's Naissim Ayadi knocked home a cross from Gunnar Steindorsson in the 43rd minute to get the Rams on the board.
The Nighthawks added two more goals in the final 45 minutes, scoring in the 62nd and 75th minutes.
Xavier Audergon made six saves for Mobile, while Andi Hoffer grabbed 4 saves for Thomas.
