No. 6 Lady Rams Fall Against No. 4 Embry-Riddle


ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 6th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team fell 1-3 to 4th-ranked Embry-Riddle at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Saturday evening.

Mobile (4-2-1) next plays at SSAC foe Brenau Sept. 21 at 4:30 PM CST.

Embry-Riddle finished the game with a 12-3 edge in shots and a 6-2 edge in shots on target. The Eagles out shot Mobile 8-0 in the second half, as the Lady Rams had to play a man down after picking up a red card with six minutes remaining in the opening period.

The first goal of the game came on a penalty kick, resulting from that red card, as Embry's Martine Olsen banged it in for the 1-0 score.

With the clock ticking down, Jesslyn Fagundes managed an unassisted tally for Mobile in the 44th minute to knot the game at 1-1 heading into the half.

In the second half, the Lady Eagles benefited from another PK and Valerie Obita scored in the 80th minute to finish the scoring.
