MOBILE, Ala-- The 14th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team fell 2-3 at home to Southern States Athletic Conference foe Southern Wesleyan University Friday evening.
Mobile (5-3-1, 1-2) hosts Truett-McConnell Saturday at 7 pm.
Southern Wesleyan started the scoring in the 26th minute when Caio Santos finished inside the 18-yard box from a difficult angle, and the score stayed 1-0 in favor of the visitors into the second half.
Six minutes into the final period, Gaetan Massiah bent a beautiful ball inside the far post from the corner of the 18-yard box to knot it at 1-1.
In the 60th minute, after Mobile's defense turned away a couple of Warrior scoring chances, Nicolas Luque gave the ball to Alejandro Sanches in the box, and Sanches did the rest to give SWU a 2-1 advantage.
That score lasted all of nine minutes, as Naissim Ayadi headed home a cross from Pierre Mangold in the 69th minute to tie the game. But, in the 79th minute, Southern Wesleyan's Douglas Andrade lofted a ball into the back of the net for the game-winner.
