MOBILE, Ala-- The 14th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team blasted visiting Truett-McConnell 6-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday.
Mobile (6-3-1, 2-2) will host 3rd-ranked Auburn-Montgomery Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7 pm.
The Rams scored early and often against the visiting Bears, finishing with a 17-10 edge in shots and 9-5 edge in shots on target.
Naissim Ayadi tallied the first goal for the Rams in the 8th minute, when he found took a pass from Gaetan Massiah well-inside the 18-yard box and punched it home. Then, in the 26th minute, Stephen Okai skied to head home another cross from Massiah and make it 2-0.
Three minutes into the final period, Ayadi's pass helped Alvaro Pichardo split a pair of defenders, and Pichardo did the rest, to make it 3-0.
Okai added his second goal of the game in the 54th minute, bending a free kick inside the near post, and then Daniel Spell did the rest. Spell scored in the 63rd and 79th minutes, with Massiah picking up his third assist on the first goal, and Shane Mendenhall tallying the assist on the game's final goal.
