MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team picked up a straight-set Southern States Athletic Conference win over visiting Truett-McConnell Friday, winning 25-8, 25-10, 25-9.
Mobile (15-7, 4-4) hosts Brenau Saturday at 11, followed by West Florida at 4.
The Lady Rams out hit the Bears .552 to -.021 and finished with a 14-1 edge in aces.
Caroline Ennis led the Lady Rams with 9 kills, Sara Van Wert and Bailey Nations added 8 kills apiece, and Disah Kolassiba finished with 7. Reagin Boggs led with 18 assists, while Alex Beaver chipped in with 16. Van Wert and Courtney Fenwick led with four aces apiece.
In the opening set, the Lady Rams had four runs of three or more, highlighted by a 6-0 run that stretched it from 14-6 to 20-6 with Boggs at the service line. Tayler Houseknecht had a pair of kills in the run.
The second set was all about a 12-0 run that took it from 4-3 to 16-3, with Fenwick serving during the run. Fenwick had four aces during the run.
In the final set, the Lady Rams led only 10-7, before finishing the set and the match on a 15-2 run, with Van Wert at the service line for the final eight points.
