MOBILE, Ala-- The 5th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team blasted visiting Faulkner University 6-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday.
Mobile (9-3-1, 5-1) next visits Emmanuel College Oct. 11 at 4 pm CST.
The Lady Rams out shot Faulkner 25-6 and finished with a 6-2 edge in corner kicks taken. Mobile also finished with a 16-1 edge in shots on target.
Christy Lachappelle scored in the 20th minute to open the game, and then Rebekah Spalding capped the opening half scoring, heading home a corner kick from Lachappelle to make it 2-0.
UMobile kept the pressure up in the final period, and tacked on four more goals, starting with Lachappelle's second goal in the 50th minute.
In the 55th minute, Jesslyn Fagundes knocked one home off an assist from Monique Martinez, In the 61st minute, Katie Compton punched the ball home off another corner from Lachappelle, and the final tally of the game came in the 67th minute, when Saskia Adriance scored off an assist from Paige Brackin.
