JACKSON, Miss-- The 18th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team used a hat trick from Gaetan Massiah to rally past 6th-ranked Belhaven University by a 3-1 score in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday.
Mobile (11-3-1, 7-2) hosts William Carey University Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 pm.
The Rams out shot Belhaven 14-7 and finished with a 10-4 edge in shots on target. Xavier Audergon finished with three saves in goal for the Rams.
Belhaven's Eduardo Cruz scored in the 32nd minute, and the Blazers led 1-0 at the half, but Mobile, especially Massiah, came out on fire in the final period.
The freshman midfielder knotted the game at 1-1 in the 54th minute when he banged home an unassisted score.
Massiah and Gunnar Steindorrson then hooked up twice in the 61st and 70th minutes to win the game. The eventual game-winner came in the 61st minute when Massiah volleyed a cross from Steindorsson into the back of the net.
