No. 4 Lady Rams Best No. 5 William Carey In 2OT

MOBILE, Ala-- Jesslyn Fagundes' goal in the 106th minute gave the 4th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team a 2-1 double-overtime victory over 5th-ranked William Carey University Wednesday in SSAC action.

The game was scoreless for 70 minutes until Rebekah Spalding just got a piece of Christy Lachappelle's free kick to redirect the ball inside the far post at the 70:33 mark.

Six minutes later, a Mobile handball set the Crusaders up with a penalty kick. Gillian McMahon stopped the PK from Tori McDevitt, but McDevitt followed up on the stop and knocked it home to tie the game at 1-1.

After playing 16:45 of scoreless extra time, the William Carey goalkeeper turned the ball over to Fagundes, who then made the keeper missed, and got enough on the off balance shot to find the back of the net.

William Carey held a slim 23-20 lead in shots taken and a 7-5 lead in shots on frame. McMahon finished with six saves for the Lady Rams.

Mobile (13-3-1, 9-1) visits rival Spring Hill Saturday at 1 pm to close out the regular season.
