Men's Basketball Falls At Southern Wesleyan

CENTRAL, S.C.-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 55-64 at Southern States Athletic Conference opponent Southern Wesleyan Friday evening.

Mobile (4-3, 1-2) visits Emmanuel Saturday at 4 pm.

Chris Richardson was the lone Ram in double figures with 17 points, while Marcus Polnett added 7 points for Mobile.

Nikola Lambic led three Warriors in double figures with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting.

Southern Wesleyan won in large part to its work at the charity stripe. The Warriors went 21-of-29 from the free throw line, while Mobile went only 5-for-10. The Rams (8-19) held a nice edge over SWU (3-11) from the 3-point line. Mobile turned the ball over 25 times and was out rebounded 29-20, including 12-6 on the offensive glass.

The Rams started the game with a Matthew Smith-Cook 3-pointer and built a 6-0 lead. The Warriors closed the gap to 14-15 and then went on a 17-4 run. Mobile went into the half trailing 37-29.

In the second half, the Rams could not pull within one score.
