Pair of Lady Rams Earn NAIA All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile's Olivia Maddox and Christy Lachappelle were named 2012 NAIA Women's Soccer All-America as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Monday.

Lachappelle, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, is a three-time NAIA All-American after earning 3rd-Team honors in 2010 and Honorable Mention in 2011. She led the Lady Rams in 45 points, 18 goals and 9 assists this season. She also led the way with seven game-winners. She tallied four goals in an Oct. 27 win over Spring Hill and had multiple goals in three other games. She leaves Mobile, ranking in the Top-3 all-time in career assists, goals and points.

Maddox, a senior midfielder from Auburn, Ala., earns AA honors for the second-straight season after finishing 2011 as a Honorable Mention All-American. She finished the season with a pair of goals, both coming in Southern States Athletic Conference action.

The NAIA All-America committee, which is comprised of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women's soccer coaches, selected the three teams and honorable mention selections. The first, second and third teams are comprised of 13 individuals each.

Lindsey Wilson's Mia Persson was named the 2012 Select Sport America-NAIA National Player of the Year.
