Lady Rams Beat Concordia-Selma By 22

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team defeated visiting Concordia-Selma 86-64 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

Mobile (5-6, 2-2) hosts Birmingham Southern Dec. 18 at 6 pm.

Briana Edwards led the Lady Rams with 20 points and 11 boards, Deonica McCormick added 16 points, 7 assists and 4 steals off the bench, Molly Speed finished with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range and Shontae Dillon chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals for the Lady Rams.

Desiree Wilson and Tierra Newell led the Lady Hornets with 13 points apiece.

Mobile out shot the visitors 54% to 37% from the floor and forced 30 turnovers.

The Lady Rams opened the game by scoring the first two buckets off turnovers, and never relinquished the lead. Up 17-12 with 11:20 to play in the half, the Lady Rams went on a 13-2 run over the next 5:13 to build a 16-point advantage. Concordia had seven turnovers in that stretch. The rest of the way, the Lady Rams never led by less than double digits.

After taking a 37-27 lead into the break, Mobile opened the final period on a 10-2 run, with seven points coming from Edwards. The largest margin was the final score of 86-64.
