UMobile Men Cruise Past The Hornets 88-68

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team cruised past visiting Concordia-Selma 88-68 Saturday evening in non-conference action at Pharr Gym.

Mobile (5-4, 1-3) visits Carroll College Dec. 15 at 7 pm.

Devondre Peoples led the Rams with 15 points and 6 rebounds off the bench, while Kevin Calloway added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go along with 6 boards. Julien Sargent and Chris Richardson each finished with 13 points, while Marcus Polnett chipped in 12. TJ Simon dished out a team-high 6 assists in the game.

Duprie Rivers and Travis Rasco each tallied 20 points to pace the Hornets in the losing effort.

Mobile out shot Concordia 56% (34-61) to 49% (24-49) from the floor. The Rams forced 19 turnovers and finished with a 36-26 rebounding edge and a 14-8 edge on the offensive glass.

Calloway opened the game with a three-point play 22 seconds in to put Mobile up 3-0, and the Rams never trailed from there. Up 18-13, the Rams went on a 7-2 run to grab a 25-15 lead at the 8:27 mark on a bucket from Calloway, and Mobile would lead by double digits the rest of the way. Mobile led by as many as 18 in the half, before going into the break with a 17-point cushion.

The second half was all Mobile, as Concordia could cut it to single digits to make a run. The Rams led by as many as 21 on several occasions.
