UMobile Men Beat Carroll 65-57

Helena, Montana-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated Carroll College 65-57 in non-conference road action Saturday evening.
The Rams (6-4) will visit Montana Tech Sunday at 4 pm.
Chris Richardson led the Rams with 24 points thanks to 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, Kwame Beard added 12 points and 8 rebounds and Cole Fountain finished with 10 points and 8 boards for the Rams.
Nick Jones led a pair of Carroll layers in double figures with 21 on 7-of-19 shooting.
Mobile out shot Carroll 46% to 31% from the floor, while Carroll had a 75% to 58% edge from the charity stripe.
The teams traded buckets through the first 8:32 of the opening half and were tied at 15-15. From there, the Rams went on a 7-0 run thanks to seven-straight from Richardson. Mobile pushed the lead to eight before heading into the half with a 33-27 advantage.
The Rams never relinquished that lead in the final half. Carroll cut it to 31-33 with 17:44 to play, but Mobile scored the next six points, with the final four coming from Fountain, to reclaim an eight-point lead. Mobile led by as many as 12 in the half on a 3-pointer by Richardson with 5:45 to play to make it 57-45.
