Pair Of Former Rams Involved In MLS Pre-draft Process

MOBILE, Ala-- The 2013 MLS SuperDraft will take place Jan. 17 at 11 am CST, and a pair of former University of Mobile soccer players have been involved in the pre-draft process.
Deshorn Brown signed a Generation adidas deal, and is taking part in the 2013 MLS Player Combine along with Stephen Okai.
Generation adidas deals involve college underclassmen and are typically among the top selections in the draft. Brown is one of seven in the 2013 Generation adidas class.
Brown played 2010-11 at the University of Mobile before playing last season at the University of Central Florida. In two years with the Rams, Brown scored 53 goals and tallied 8 assists for 114 points. He was a two-time 1st-Team NAIA All-American and SSAC Player of the Year. He scored 32 goals in 2011 for the Rams.
Okai played in 77 games over four seasons with the Rams, culminating with being named the 2012 Select Sport America-NAIA Men's Soccer National Player of the Year. Accounting for 20 goals and 26 assists in his career, Okai was a three-time NAIA All-American with the Rams.
There are 72 players participating at the combine in Lauderhill, Fla. The SuperDraft is two rounds long, with 38 picks to be made.
TopDrawerSoccer.com ranks Brown 7th and Okai 43rd on their MLS SuperDraft Big Board. Three mock drafts from draft experts at www.mlssoccer.com have Brown being picked 4th, 7th and 12th.
The SuperDraft will be streamed on ESPN3, ESPNFC, MLSsoccer.com, YouTube.com and all club web sites.
On Jan. 22, the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft will take place, featuring four rounds.
