MOBILE, Ala-- Former University of Mobile men's basketball player Antonio Hester is playing professional basketball in Finland with Turun NMKY.
In six games, Hester is averaging 29.2 minutes, 19.3 points, 18.3 rebounds, .7 blocks and 1.8 assists. The 2011-12 3rd-Team NAIA All-American is shooting 64% from the floor and 71% from the charity stripe.
In a win on Jan. 27, Hester totaled 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Hester averaged 15.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.48 blocks with the Rams in 2011-12 and led the NAIA with a .668 field goal percentage. He went over 30 points three times, with a high of 31 versus Lee Dec. 2. His high of 19 rebounds came Jan. 19 versus Auburn-Montgomery.
Six previous Rams have signed pro contracts (Reggie Ellis, Larry Edwards, Tracy Hector, Gabriel Feagin, Rene Antee and Gimel Lewis).
