Lady Rams Fall To 19th-Ranked Faulkner Eagles

MOBILE, Ala-- The Lady Rams fell to 19th-ranked Faulkner University 46-70 thanks to a second half that saw the team shoot 26% from the floor and get outscored 36-17.
Mobile (12-11, 7-6) hosts Trinity Baptist Monday at 5:30 pm in non-conference action.
Deonica McCormick was the lone Lady Ram in double figures with 11 points, 4 assists and 4 steals, while Brittney Carter led a trio of Lady Eagles in double figures with 20 points and 16 boards.
Faulkner out shot Mobile 48% to 28% from the floor, 50% to 25% from 3-point range and 50% to 47% from the charity stripe.
After a pair of quick 3-pointers helped Faulkner to an 8-2 lead, the Lady Rams answered with a 7-0 surge, capped by four-straight points from McCormick. The teams traded buckets over the next 6:20, with Mobile clinging to a 20-19 lead. From there, the Lady Rams went on a 7-1 run to take their largest lead of the game, 27-20, with 5:21 remaining.
But, from that point on, the Lady Rams were outscored 50-19, including being on the wrong end of a 14-2 run to close out the first half. That run extended into the magority of the second half, as the Lady Eagles outscored Mobile 32-10 over the first 16:21.
