MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 52-68 at Auburn-Montgomery in Southern States Athletic Conference Action Saturday.
Mobile (14-14, 8-9) visits Spring Hill Saturday, Feb. 23 to cap the regular season.
AUM shot a sizzling 56% from the floor in the opening half to build a 42-29 lead. The Warhawks fell to 36% in the final half, but Mobile shot only 25% itself, finishing at 33% for the game. Mobile shot 58% from the free throw line versus 92% for AUM.
Shontae Dillon was the lone Lady Ram in double figures with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while Courtney Bayliss added 9 points on 3-of-5 shooting from 3-point range.
Drayton LaKenya led the Warhawks with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while Maize Psachal added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Warhawks scored the game's first seven points in the midst of a game-opening 11-1 run, as Mobile missed its first three shots and AUM went 5-for-6 from the floor. The closest Mobile got after that run was 21-14 with 10:25 to go, but AUM answered with a 10-2 spurt as Mobile went 1-for-6 shooting.
AUM started the second half just like the first, scoring the period's first seven points to build a 20-point lead.
