TALLADEGA, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball team opened the 2013 season with a doubleheader sweep at non-conference opponent Talladega College, winning the opener 10-0 and taking the finale 10-1.

Mobile (2-0) heads to Decatur, Ala., Feb. 22-24 for the Arctic Blast Tournament. They will open against Point University Feb. 22 at 4 pm.

Kamaron Strickland pitched the opening game and worked a complete-game, four-hit shutout with six strikeouts. Brittany Dunson went 2-for-3 with a walk at the dish, Alexa Da Rosa finished 1-for-3, Sarah Stuart went 2-for-3 and Allie Luster went 3-for-3 for the Lady Rams.

Alli Hall worked a complete-game six-hitter in the finale, limiting the Tornadoes to one run with six k's.

Luster was again the star at the plate with two hits and a 3-run home run. Jessica Palmer went 2-for-3 with a walk for the Lady Rams.
