MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Marcus Polnett was named a Daktronics-NAIA DI Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Monday.

Sixty men's basketball student-athletes were honored.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Polnett is a senior accounting major from Homewood, Ala. The point guard played in 112 games in his four-year career with the Rams, totaling 480 points, 229 assists, 172 rebounds and 94 steals.
