DAYTONA BEACH, Fla-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in 9th place at Embry-Riddle's Bash at the Beach Sunday.
Mobile carded a 93-over 661 (345, 316) at the Par-71 Daytona Beach Golf Club. The Lady Rams trailed Spring Hill by seven strokes after round one, but bested the Lady Badgers by 12 strokes in the final round to swap positions in the final standings.
Bethune-Cookman won the tournament with a 35-over 603 (305, 298), while Embry-Riddle finished 2nd with a 40-over 608 (309, 299).
Senior Maegan Rice (9-over 151) followed up an opening-round 9-over 80 with a final round 71 to climb to 5th overall, but fell four strokes shy of finishing 1st in her 6th-straight tournament. Northwood's Kayte Decker finished 1st with a 5-over 147 (75, 72).
Taylor Kirby finished at 21-over 163 (85, 78), Abbie Harris shot a 28-over 170 (89, 81), Taylor Lee carded a 35-over 177 (91, 86) and Mandy Eads finished at 53-over 195.
The Lady Rams will return to action April 25-27 in Columbus, Ga. at the NAIA Independent Qualifier.
