MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes, and the NAIA All-American teams Wednesday, and the Lady Rams received some recognition.
First for the Lady Rams, junior libero Amber Presnell was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete. The award goes to juniors or seniors who maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher. Presnell, a native of Semmes, AL led Mobile with 475 digs heading into last week's NAIA National Tournament and served up 56 aces for the Lady Rams.
The final honors announced were the NAIA All-Americans. Whitney Knight and Syretta Baldwin were both named Honorable Mention All-Americans after the Lady Rams finished the season 36-7 at the NAIA National Tournament.
Baldwin, a junior from Montgomery, AL, posted a hitting percentage of .327 and racked up 537 kills for Mobile. She also contributed 93 total blocks on the season.
Knight, the Region XIII Player of the Year, led Mobile with 623 kills for an average of 4.48 kills per game. She also finished second with 437 digs and led the team with 79 service aces.
