JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team fell 1-0 in overtime at No. 24 Belhaven College in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Saturday.
Mobile out-shot Belhaven 12-6 and held an 11-3 edge in corner kicks taken, but could not put find the back of the net. The Rams had struggled to score all season, but tallied seven goals in a 2-game stretch at LSU-Shreveport and Northwood. That momentum did not carry over.
The Blazers could not find the back of the net either through 97 minutes, but 8 minutes into the first overtime period, the Blazers' Alan Hannon scored on a penalty kick for the winning tally. Jason Williams had 2 saves in the loss for Mobile.
The Rams (5-7, 1-1) return to action at William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7 pm.
