Lady Rams Blank Spring Hill College

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated rival Spring Hill College 1-0 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening.
 
Brianna Simmons scored the game-winner and lone goal of the game in the 22nd minute, when she ripped a 30-yard shot past Spring Hill's diving goal keeper.
 
Anna Maddox had 3 saves in the shutout victory for Mobile, while the Lady Badgers' Emma Pitchford grabbed 4 saves in the contest.
 
Spring Hill took 9 shots and put 3 of them on target, while Mobile took 8 shots and put 5 on target.
 
Mobile (7-7-1, 2-1) will wrap up the regular season on Saturday by hosting William Carey (13-1-1, 2-0 GCAC) at 7 p.m. The game will be Senior Night where Terri McCreadie, Danielle Byrd and Sacha Martin will be honored. Spring Hill (7-8-1, 0-3-1 GCAC) will next play at No. 4 seeded LSU-Shreveport in the 2009 GCAC Tournament’s “Play-In” as the 5th seed at a date and time yet to be determined.
