MOBILE, Ala-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2010 All-GCAC Softball team and the 2010 GCAC All-Tournament team Monday, and the University of Mobile had three athletes chosen to each honorary squad.
Leslie Pickette, Kirstyn Joiner and Victoria Buie were named All-GCAC, while Pickette, Joiner and Desiree Truett were named to the All-Tournament team.
All-Conference
This is the 2nd-straight year as an all-conference selection for both Pickette and Joiner. Pickette, a senior from Oxford, Ala., went 15-6 with 11 complete games and 4 shutouts and a 1.44 ERA in 21 starts for Mobile. She logged 126 innings and struck out 114 batters, while walking only 26. She no-hit Union College on Feb. 26.
Joiner, a sophomore catcher/third baseman from Milton, Fla., led the Lady Rams with a .366 batting average, 13 doubles, 33 RBI and 2 homers. She posted a .438 on-base percentage and drew 18 walks versus only 13 k's.
Buie, a junior pitcher from Dothan, Ala., went 6-6 with a 1.73 ERA and 4 shutouts in 23 appearances for Mobile. She logged 101 innings of work, allowed only 64 hits and 23 walks and struck out 128 batters. She held opponents to a .181 batting average. She finished the year with one perfect game and a pair of no-hitters.
All-Tournament Team
In the 2010 GCAC Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala., Pickette allowed only 1 run on 5 hits in 10 innings of action, spanning a pair of appearances. She picked up a complete-game victory over Spring Hill and grabbed the save versus Dillard University.
Truett went 5-for-12 for a .417 batting average, while starting all four games at 1st base at the tournament. She drove in 5 runs and scored 3 runs.
Joiner posted a .400 on-base percentage and slugged. 429, while catching all four games in the tourney. She drove in a pair and scored once.
