MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile junior varsity volleyball team won the first JV match in school history Saturday against Faulkner University 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-12).
The team was made up of Charlotte Stutts, Shea McBee, Aleeshia Staley, Vanessa Rodriguez, Lauren Higdon, Michelle McKay, Ashley Holmes, Paige Lunstrum and Tricia Brown.
McKay and McBee led the way with 7 and 6 kills, respectively, with McKay hitting .636. Rodriguez paced the attack with 17 assists, while Stutts added 13 digs. The team also finished with 10 service aces, led by 3 from Aleeshia Staley, and committed only 3 errors on 40 serve-receive chances.
The Lady Rams hit .153 for the match, compared to -.145 for Faulkner. Mobile started off nicely with a .238 hitting percentage in the opening set, and finished things off with by hitting .280 in the final set.
