RAPID CITY, S.D.-- The University of Mobile's Maegan Rice finished tied for 17th at the 2010 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships Friday.
The senior from Florence, Ala., carded a final-round 82 to finish at 27-over 315 (71, 80, 82, 82) for the tournament. She finished in a three-way tie for 17th with British Columbia's Alyssa Human and Embry-Riddle's Beatriz Serra.
Nathalie Silva of California Baptist won the individual championship, finishing at 13-over 301 (74, 76, 75, 76). British Columbia's Kylie Barros finished 2nd with a 15-over 303.
SCAD's Nikki Stewart jumped from 20th to 6th after carding a final-round 1-under 71 to join Rice as the only two golfers to fire an under-par round in the event. Rice shot a 1-under 71 to open the tournament Tuesday.
In the final 18, Rice finished with two double bogeys and six bogeys. This was her fourth appearance at nationals in four years at Mobile. As a freshman in 2007 she finished tied for 9th.
British Columbia edged out Oklahoma City by seven strokes for the team title, finishing 72-over 1224.
