MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile Volleyball Program announced the addition of Christa Hicks for the 2010 season.
Hicks, a 5-10 outside hitter from Livermore, California, is transferring to Mobile from Chabot College. She was named All-Conference both seasons of competition and served as team captain.
Prior to her college experience, she played volleyball and ran track at Granada High School. She was named All-League three years in volleyball and for long jump and 100 hurdles in track. She also showed off her athleticism by setting the school record in the long jump at 18' 1.5."
Hicks' club experience features playing time for the East Bay Connection and Arugula Volleyball Club. She was team captain at both stops.
The junior is excited about joining a competitive program and making a contribution right away.
"I'm excited about playing volleyball at UM because I think I can bring a lot to the team and they have a good program," Hicks said.
The Campbell’s are looking forward to her leadership. “We will certainly be a young team on the court this season, and Christa brings college experience to the table. Her athletic ability will certainly boost our offense and defense.”
